Mobilizing Journey to Love our Neighbors

Everyone can do something

Updated: July 21, 2020

We know you’ve been anxiously looking for ways to generously meet the needs of people in our community during this crisis. Everyone can do something, and that’s why we are excited to share these three simple ways you can make a difference.

1. Donate

In partnership with Raleigh Dream Center, Journey will be hosting a Food Drive. We will be collecting non-perishable food donations that will get distributed to families in need in our community during this difficult time.

When
You can drop off donations on Thursdays from 12-2pm.

Where
Journey Church
3500 Spring Forest Road
Raleigh, NC 27616

What to Bring

  • Food
    • Canned vegetables, canned beans, canned fruit, canned meats, peanut butter, jelly (no glass), crackers, pasta and sauce (no glass), rice, cereal, granola bars, powdered or boxed milk, applesauce cups, fruit cups, juice boxes, and Capri Suns.
  • Quick Prepare Meals
    • Microwaveable Mac and Cheese, Spaghetti O’s, Hamburger Helper, etc.
  • Baby Items
    • Formula, baby food, diapers, wipes, etc.
  • Hygiene Products
    • Bars of soap, hand wipes, disinfecting wipes, cleaners, bleach, etc.

2. Serve

The food we collect during this Drive will be donated to Raleigh Dream Center.  They will use it to provide meals to several communities around our church building. As a church, we are taking responsibility for three of those communities: Spring Forest Apartments, Oak City Apartments, and Raleigh Millbank Community.

If you are comfortable outside of your home and want to deliver meals, we need individuals to deliver meals Monday-Friday from 11am-1pm. We will be taking all of the necessary safety precautions (ex. social distancing, gloves, etc.). If you are interested, click the button below to sign up.

3. Give

Give Blood

During this time there is an incredible need for people to give blood. If you are healthy and are comfortable going outside of your home, you can find the closest location to give blood by clicking the button below.

Give Financially

Beyond your tithes and offerings to Journey, there is a great opportunity to give financially to the Food Bank of Central and Eastern Carolina. Much of the food that is being distributed to these food sites is being generated from the food bank. You can give using the button below.
