No registration needed for adults this weekend!
Thank you for your help over the past few weeks as you have cooperated with us by registering to attend one of our weekend gatherings. Now that we have a feel for proper spacing in the auditorium at Journey, we are able to discontinue the need to pre-register adults. However, for our kids’ area, due to limited square footage, families will still need to pre-register their children.
Cancellations: after registering, if you decide not to attend, please come back and cancel your registration. That will ensure that those seats are opened back up for others.
The Parking Lot, Entering the Building, The Lobby
You can park anywhere you want with the exception of the parking spots right in front of the building. We will have those spots blocked off for what we’re calling the “outside lobby.” It’s a spot where you can greet one another, practice social distancing, and experience the warm welcome that has always been part of the Journey experience.
When you arrive, you will enter the building through one set of doors where we will take your temperature and give you a bit of hand sanitizer.
Once inside, you will immediately see a couple of things that will be different. One thing you will notice is that there won’t be the usual amount of activity in the lobby you have grown accustomed to experiencing at Journey. The lobby will now essentially be a walkway where our host team will escort you to the auditorium or to the kids’ check-in area. We know you love our amazing coffee, but for now the coffee kiosk and water fountains will be closed.
As you enter the auditorium, the host team will help guide you to your seat. We will seat people from the front of the room to the back in order to ensure social distancing between families or groups. Once seated, you are free to either take your face covering off or leave it on. You won’t see any cards or envelopes in the seat backs, and we will not be passing offering baskets at the conclusion of the service. We will provide boxes at the doors for your tithes and offerings. When the gathering is over, we ask that you stay in your seat until the host team dismisses your row. Again, this will help in maintaining social distancing within the building.
If you have kids, we want you to know that we have taken every precaution to keep our kids’ areas safe as well. Every one of our volunteers will have a temperature check and health screening prior to serving your kids.
By pre-registering your kids, we will be ready for your family when you arrive. Our volunteers will help you through a touch-free check in, where you will pick up security tags for you and your children. We ask that children be accompanied to their room by only one parent. We also ask that the same parent pick up your child after the gathering is over. We’re doing this to limit the number of parents in the kids’ area during each gathering.
In the kids’ hallway, we will have socially distanced dots for you to stand on while dropping off and picking up your kids. There will be a passing line for parents that are picking up from a different room. When you arrive at the appropriate Studio for your child, a Journey Kids volunteer will meet you outside the door of the Studio, help your child put hand sanitizer on, and then help them get situated in their classroom. During this season, parents will remain outside the Studio rooms.
In certain classrooms, snacks will be served to your kids by their leaders in disposable cups.
Most importantly, we will do a thorough cleaning and sanitization during the week before your kids get here and then again between the gatherings. We have a very strict protocol each room will follow and check off before kids enter the room.
Our staff and volunteers will be wearing face coverings, and we ask that you wear a face covering in the lobby, hallways, and when entering or leaving the auditorium. You are free to remove or continue wearing your face covering once seated in the big room. Kids aged 11 and under are not required to wear face coverings.
Cleaning and Sanitization
We will do a thorough cleaning and sanitization of the entire building during the week before everyone arrives for Sunday gatherings. We will also be cleaning and sanitizing between each gathering. There is a protocol for cleaning each room in the building and it will be followed and checked off before anyone enters the building.
We know this seems like a lot, and it will take us a few weeks to get accustomed to the changes, but we look forward to offering you an opportunity to worship in person with your church family. If you have any specific questions or comments, don’t hesitate to contact us at .
